The One Room Challenge starts TODAY! If you’re not already familiar with the challenge, participants have 8 weeks to transform a room of their choosing. There are featured designers but anyone can join as a guest participant so that’s what I did!

I recently started Home on Monday after realizing my home, after 7 YEARS of living here, was in no way shape or form a reflection of me or my style. This is our first house and life quickly took over after we moved in so I never really took the time to make it our own. And if I’m being brutally honest, every time we invited friends or family over I found myself apologizing and even slightly embarrassed. I never want to feel that way again. I am grateful for the place I get to call home and am now obsessed with taking small actions to make it a place where my family and I feel comfort, joy, and pride.

So! For the One Room Challenge I am tackling our Primary Bathroom. Which is technically more of an entire family bathroom these days. I share it with my husband but also my almost 2 and 4 year old’s take their baths in here since their bathroom down the hall only has a stand up shower. (Weird I know….Future project??!) I chose this room since not only is it one of the most hardworking rooms in the house, we were also starting to experience a few small issues. The towel hooks and toilet paper holder fell off the drywall, the white cabinets have seen better days and so had the hardware. And I’m cannot believe I’m saying this but we STILL have a boob light fan. (I now…believe me, I know….) Time for it to go.

Here is how it looks today:

What I’m also super excited about is that this is a makeover anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can do. I’m working with what we have and I’m here to prove how small, approachable decorating and styling actions can make a MASSIVE impact.

The Plan. While not ever single detail is planned out and I might pivot as I go depending on how things shake out, here is the general idea:

I’ll go deeper into the plan and share where I’m finding inspiration in future posts this week. Eeeeek! I’m so excited

I’ll share progress daily throughout the challenge but the full juicy updates will be posted on Wednesday’s here on the Home on Monday Blog and on the One Room Challenge site, where you can check out all the other featured and guest participants as well. The big reveal and champagne bottle popping is scheduled for May 25th.

Love the mood board! In a non-ORC related question, I’m wondering if you could share a source for your pink overalls? They’re so cute!!

    • Claire Kinney says:

Thank you so much! The overalls are SO COMFORTABLE and the color is perfect – not too bright. You can find them here AND I saw that they were just put on sale 🙂
